Equal Time-Sharing

50/50 or EQUAL TIME-SHARING

In 2023 a law was passed in Florida that controls 50/50 or Equal Time-sharing.  This law is considered to be a good law because it says that EQUAL TIME-SHARING is a good idea for children when the parents are getting a Divorce or there is a dispute, such as a Paternity case. Florida Judges sometimes have to decide if equal time-sharing is good or bad for the children.

50/50 Time-sharing does not happen automatically as there are many issues that may permit a parent to only see their children under certain conditions.

When parents agree to a 50/50 plan, both parents see the children throughout the week or month. This means that both parents have a role in raising the children. Time-sharing is different than Custody because when a parent has Custody, the other parent does not get to see the children and share in having time with the children for many different reasons.
